Testimonials My son loves ABA! He likes the variety of formats and says the coaches are great. As a parent, I appreciate that the ABA program is well-run, available throughout the year, and great value.
Kathleen Niccols, ABA Parent The ABA family and Coach Loucks will always hold a special place in my heart! As a former player and coach, I always felt as if the ABA gym was a safe space for me to develop as both a kid and a basketball player. Having gone on one of the European Basketball Tours that Coach has organized in the past, I know how generous and caring the foundation of this program is and know that the staff within this organization are expected to uphold and enact those same values in every game, camp, training session, or travel team that ABA is involved with. This is the perfect place for both fun and development of basketball skills!
Shintaro Tsukamoto, former ABA Player and Coach As a family we absolutely LOVE the ABA. Sean is so responsive, which is not the case with many other sports clubs. The program is set up to grow their skills, have fun and play games. It is brilliantly done and the staff are amazing! Their game knowledge is great, but even better is their ability to keep drills and games fun. My son plays competitive soccer and rep baseball too, but ABA is where my he has the most FUN!
Rob Goldstein, ABA Parent As one of the original members of the ABA league, watching the league grow over the years has been a true joy. Saturday mornings at the gym were always a mainstay for myself and my siblings. We learned so much about the game, as well as many life lessons that can be applied off the court.
Cam MacNicol, ABA Alumni The ABA is where teammates become friends, coaches become mentors, and basketball becomes family. I spent more than a decade in ABA programs through my formative years and my only regret is that I did not sign up sooner. I still proudly wear my ABA shirts from various seasons. Much love!
Alex Antunes, ABA Alumni ABA taught my daughter more than just excellent basketball skills - they taught her sportsmanship and gave her a community. Every member of the ABA organization from top to bottom is an excellent role model. These are the people you want teaching your kids.
Mark Hodnett, ABA Parent Our girls joined ABA when they were 8, and have been playing in various combinations of the Tues, Thurs, and Sat programs and several summer and March break camps for the last 7 years. They’ve loved every second of it - the perfect blend of fun, skills development, and healthy competition. The coaches are high-energy, knowledgeable, attentive, and inclusive. We looked into girls-only programs, but just never came across anything with the same sensibility and structure as ABA.
Matt Shoom-Kirsch, ABA Parent ABA should actually stand for “Awesome Basketball Always”! The coaching staff, lead by Sean is fantastic. They are skilled, encouraging and know how to balance some healthy competition with the right amount of fun. Athletes of all levels are challenged appropriately and learn that trying their best is what matters. ABA is a wonderful environment all round.
Lhara Eben, ABA Parent ABA was a great experience for my son when he was introduced to Coach Loucks almost 10 years ago. Not only were there clinics, house league and training sessions to join but there were other opportunities to participate in, the Gamecocks tournament, playing on the Raptors home court, volunteer opportunities and a trip to Europe to name a few. My son learned incredibly valuable skills both on and off the court. Coach Loucks is not only a great coach but a very kind person and it shows in his leadership as well as with the staff and volunteers that work with him.
Peggy Tsukamoto, mother of former ABA player For five years my son played for and, later as he matured, served as a youth coach for ABA. The coaches were pivotal in helping him develop both his basketball and coaching skills, providing positive and specific feedback and always displaying a great example of sportsmanship. His teen years were so enriched by all the fantastic kids and adults he met through ABA, and it will always hold a fond place in our hearts!
