Testimonials

As one of the original members of the ABA league, watching the league grow over the years has been a true joy. Saturday mornings at the gym were always a mainstay for myself and my siblings. We learned so much about the game, as well as many life lessons that can be applied off the court.
Cam MacNicol, ABA Alumni

As a family we absolutely LOVE the ABA. Sean is so responsive, which is not the case with many other sports clubs. The program is set up to grow their skills, have fun and play games. It is brilliantly done and the staff are amazing! Their game knowledge is great, but even better is their ability to keep drills and games fun. My son plays competitive soccer and rep baseball too, but ABA is where my he has the most FUN!
Rob Goldstein, ABA Parent

I was one of the first players in the inaugural ABA league in 2003 and I’ve been connected ever since. Coach Loucks and his staff helped me to develop as a player. As a coach, it was a pleasure to join the team and offer the best program we could, focusing on skill development, fun, and teaching key principles like teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Every time I visit ABA , I see it’s the same top-notch program which continues to evolve and improve. As a former college basketball player, UCC Sr. Basketball Camp director, and TDSB teacher, I can vouch for the ABA providing a premier quality service and experience to its players, campers, and staff.
Simon McCamus, ABA Alumni

The ABA is where teammates become friends, coaches become mentors, and basketball becomes family. I spent more than a decade in ABA programs through my formative years and my only regret is that I did not sign up sooner. I still proudly wear my ABA shirts from various seasons. Much love!
Alex Antunes, ABA Alumni

ABA should actually stand for “Awesome Basketball Always”! The coaching staff, lead by Sean is fantastic. They are skilled, encouraging and know how to balance some healthy competition with the right amount of fun. Athletes of all levels are challenged appropriately and learn that trying their best is what matters. ABA is a wonderful environment all round.
Lhara Eben, ABA Parent

Your child will learn more than basketball skills. Coach Loucks’ leadership builds discipline, self-respect and commitment to a team, all qualities that serve both on and beyond the court.
Kathy Peel, ABA Parent and Supporter

My son participated in the ABA program for many years. Coach Loucks was a great mentor whose coaching and teaching manner inspired and motivated Alex to mature and gain confidence on and off the basketball court. Thank you for providing a fun, safe yet challenging environment for kids to be themselves.
Ana Antunes, ABA Parent

Our girls joined ABA when they were 8, and have been playing in various combinations of the Tues, Thurs, and Sat programs and several summer and March break camps for the last 7 years. They’ve loved every second of it - the perfect blend of fun, skills development, and healthy competition. The coaches are high-energy, knowledgeable, attentive, and inclusive. We looked into girls-only programs, but just never came across anything with the same sensibility and structure as ABA.
Matt Shoom-Kirsch, ABA Parent

Many years after Becky had finished playing at the ABA, I called Sean to ask if he had any photos. I really didn’t expect any. A bit later, having searched through years of photos, he sent me wonderful pictures of ‘Becky in action’. I loved them, and so did Becky, my now grown daughter. That says it all. Besides being an exceptionally knowledgeable coach and wonderful role model and leader of the ABA, he is also such a kind and generous person.
Don Jones, Dad of Becky Jones

I would also like to say that I am very impressed with the ABA League. It is so well organized and all the coaches and staff are great and the quality of the drills and games are perfect for this group of kids. Thank you for the great work all of you do. We hope to be part of the ABA for years to come.
